transparent VBA controls

I can make a checkbox transparent by changing the backstyle property to transparent, but if the cell background behind the control is a color, the checkbox background changes to white when the checkbox becomes active in the spreadsheet. How do I avoid that?

Change the backcolor of your control to match the cell color.
I have had problems with making controls transparent too. There are some workarounds if the above does not work.

I tried that, but the two available color pallets are slightly different, which means I can still see two different colors.

Hi Gut.
You can create a custom color for your control which will be able to match that of your cell background. From properties, choose backcolor, pallette, right click on one of the white squares at the bottom, create your color. You can also type in the red, green, blue values 0-255, I think.
I wonder if you can return the rgb from an Excel colorindex???
