Transpose to matched names

Hi.

I have 2 workbooks where I need to transpose data from 1 workbook to another. It was suggested that I use a pivot table and then a lookup table, but I am not sure how this works with my workbooks.

What I am requiring to do is to show each persons applications stored in Workbook 1 within Workbook 2. Where I have come unstuck is that at the moment a lookup table will only show the 1st application within the pivot table. I am not sure if what I actually need is some sort of code.

Could I just ask for some more assistance?, I presume the code will go into Workbook 1 as this is where I want to pull the applications from the sepereate workbook, workbook 2. However, how does the code know which workbook to pick up from, as I cant seem to see the references to workbooks.

I am so sorry for being so completely thick, but I am just getting my head around codes, and have just switched to Office 2007 (finally) and I just cant get it to work.

I have opened VBA on Workbook 1 and pasted the code into a new Module (not an object, I presume this is right). However, I cant see where to add a short cut so that I can run the code. And when I close the application and re-open it says there is 'a compile error outside of procedure' and highlights the 3rd line of code (x1up).

Sorry to be such a pain.
