Is it possible to have the column headings as 1, 2, 3 etc and row headings as A, B, C etc (i.e. the reverse of the standard page view).

Any help appreciated!

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
You can change the column headings to numbers but you can't change the row numbers to letters.

Not that I'm aware of, why would you need to do this? You can have it in R1C1 notation so you get numbers on both columns and rows

A client has complained of this inadvertently happening and requires a fix.

I wasn't aware that it could happen and I'm wondering if it just that they have transposed actual data using the paste function. We have gone back for clarification from them.

Thanks for the advice.
