Trouble with Pivot Table in XL2003

I have windows 2000 excel 2003 I am creating a Pivot Table report from a database and for some raison it won't update the report when using the refresh data from the toolbar. But, In the same document, I am able to update 3 other reports from the same database.
The wizzard is telling me to type a cell reference or select a range that includes at least two rows of data. I am confuse, please help me...
