Trouble with Time

Hi All
Im having spliting up hours and minutes from a time.

12:00
12:00
11:30
8:30
8:00
8:00
8:00
68:00 Autosum Total of above.
and the result of =HOURS of 68:00 comes back as 20 when I was expecting to see 68.

any ideas why?

The sum would be correct but what you need to do is adjust the format so the hour is shown in square brackets like this

Hi Trevor,
Sorry, I didnt explain myself properly.
The auto sum works correctly and does give me the 68:00, the problem comes when I try to split the 68:00 into two different cells(Hours and Minutes), when I use the formula =HOURS on the 68:00 it returns a value of 20 rather than 68.

Then try selecting the cells with time and then use the Text to Columns option you can then select Delimited, next step then use other and add the : next step select Text and then you will have separated information, sample below:

Again, sorry

The times are generated by formula, when I try the text to column it is showing me the formula.
Im trying to automate a timesheet.

Copy the cells, then use paste special and paste values then you can split them as per my previous suggestion.
