# Trying to understand the following formula: {=table(a1,)}

I am completely lost with the following array formula that I've come across in a worksheet that I'm auditing:

{=table(a1,)}

The cell a1 contains a date, but I have no idea where formula is getting it's data for the resulting calculation. There is no data set called "table" in the workbook. The result of the formula is a dollar value of stock options that is based on the date found in cell a1.

I don't even know where to start.

### Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.

Well to start you can show us the result. its hard for us to guess whats happening if we dont know what the end result is. I cant find the table function, so check in the code editor to see if its a UDF.

Sorry for the lack of information...

It's a one-way data table. Thanks for the guidance!

I hope to be a contributing member on this forum, thanks for the help!
