hi all

I have loads of data next to dates that are in the following format

10Jan2005:06:02:31

I was hoping to turn this into the usual 01/10/2005 format, and for it to be recognized by excel as that date.

An ideas - this is driving me up the wall!

thanks

Jordan

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Have a look at Data|Text to Columns. Set to delimited on the colon, make sure you set the first chunk of data to Date|DMY and ignore the other columns.

Post back if you need more direction.
