Turn off automatic calculate formulas

In a spreadsheet with an attached pivot table, I get my data for the pivot table through a SQL Query. The query is started in the sheet data via an add-in of the ERP (EXACT Software) , through which the data is extracted from the SQL database. I found out that the automatic calculation mode has to be switched off because otherwise the SQL server gets jammed. Question: when starting the excel work-map, I would like to switch off the automatic calculate mode and put it to "hand" mode of calculating. Can I put in the opening page some VBA to do this. And which VBA lines?

Thanks in advance for your help on this.
