I have a spreadsheet with the following columns:

Project ManagerProject
The dropdown list for column is populated from another list by the UNIQUE function in Data ValidationI want this list to show only the projects that are managed by the project manager in the previous column as a dropdown list
This works very happily with this formula in Data Vaildation: =SORT(UNIQUE('Project&Enhancement'!AB9:AB1520))I have created the formula '=FILTER('Project&Enhancement'!J9:J1520,'Project&Enhancement'!AB9:AB1520=INDIRECT((ADDRESS(ROW(),COLUMN()-1))),"No Name Found”)

Which relieves the name cell but I can’t get this to populate as a dropdown list.

I could make this work if I could temporarily store the output of the FILTER function somewhere and then use a =<Cell Reference># construct within data validation to create the list.

Is what I want to do possible WITHOUT CODE?

Many thanks,

David.

@David_DJ Welcome to the Forum.
My knowledge of Excel formula is very basic, so I can't help you with that.
But I have a method using vba that deals with data entry on multiple dependent fields like your project. Usually people use dependent data validation for this kind of work.

This vba method makes use of textbox & listbox in userform. You can search the list (i.e the "Project Manager") by typing some keywords in the textbox, so this method is useful IF you have many unique data, say 50+, on your list.
Let me know if you’re interested in this method.
