Two X-axis labels in Graphs

I have to show labels on x-axis like this. I can show one level of x-axis labels. But i don't know how to show two levels in x-axis.


T1 T2 T3 T4 T1 T2 T3 T4 T1 T2 T3 T4
Jan Feb Mar


Experts any advice? I could not find anything like this in many message boards?

The cells that you use for the X - axis labels just need to contain the entire title (so Jan T1, Jan T2, Jan T3, Feb T1 etc etc).

Thank you. I thought about the same. But Our requirements won't allow me to do like that.

I want the labels in the same way i posted in my orginal mail? Is this possible?

I currently do this by right clicking the chart, choose source data. Click the series tab. In the box labeled category (x) axis labels. Select or type in the range - eg. "='for charts'!$G$28:$H$48"

one thin I have noticed is the range has to be concurrent columns- a&b or b&c etc.

Don't know if this is what you are looking for but you can always put a text box under the axis and manually enter the months that you want. Format the text box to show no line around the box and this should do it.

Suppose your worksheet looks like this...

...just select A1:C12 and click on the Chart wizard. This will create a chart with an x-axis as you requested. The chart's SERIES function will look like this...

=SERIES(,Sheet1!$A$1:$B$12,Sheet1!$C$1:$C$12,1)
