Typing Numbers

Hi,

I am trying to type 001, 002 , 003, etc, in rows, however its taking the value 1, 2, 3 etc, can anyone help?

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

Hi

If this is purely for display, then you can format the cells to display the leading zeros (Format>Cells>Number tab and choose Custom and type in:

000

in the type box at the top.

If you want actual textual values ie "001" then you can either format the cells as Text and type away, or precede the values you are inputting with an apostrophe ie:

'001

as this makes the cell text too.
