How do you do it in excel in such a way that when you type a text, that if the text gets so long that it doesn't go to the far right side. Instead it goes to the next line, just like it would if you type in in WORD document.

I think I have seen that done before siomewhere.

Thanks.

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Your suiggestion is one way to do it but that will entail that I merge cells otherwise my text will be wrapped in just one cell.

I think I have seen something before wherein you wouldn't need to merge cells, you will just have to highlight them and do something and your text will be wrapped in a certain range.

You do not have to merge a cell, you can simply increase the column width to accommodate the text you wish to enter. I never mentioned merging cells.

The only thing I can think of that sounds similar to what you're saying is to select your range, and goto Format Cells --> Alignment and in the 'Horizontal' drop down box select center across cells.

Another alternative you have is to place a text box from teh drawing toolbar on your document, allowing you to type in a similar vein to Microsoft Word.

What you have to remember is that XL is not designed for rich text formatting - its a number crunching app. If such issues are particularly imiportant, perhaps you should reconsider your choice of program for your task?
