Hi there, I am trying to paste data from a non merged cell to differing merged cells in other worksheets. For some reason I successfully paste some but not others.

For example.

pasting data from "B1" to "I2:M2" this will work. however wehen pasting from "B2" to "I2:M2" I get runtime error 1004 "cannot change part of a merged cell"

Both cells "B1" and "B2" are EXACTLY the same. ive tried using different cells but the problem seems to randomly occur for certain cells.

Can anyone help?

Thank you

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Merged cells are painful and should not be used whenever possible.

Use the format menu to align the cells accross columns instead.
