Unable to recognise date format

Hi all, i have a userform which enables users to select dates for a new record to be inserted. When inserted, the date goes like this 1-January-2010. Only when i click the cell to edit and click another cell, then the format would automatically change to 01-Jan-10. But if i do not and i filter the records, the rows with dates entered through the userform are neglected. How can i allow dates entered through the userform be automatically converted into the default excel date format?

Without a sample of the code for your userform it will a bit difficult to help.
