i have several macros written for these people that will do data updates, add items to charts etc...

well what is the code for undoing what the macro has done if the user stops it in the middle?

for example one macro adds a 'new dealer' sheet and then goes to another sheet and adds a row to one table, adds a whole new table, then adds the dealer to an existing chart. if the user stops the macro and steps 1 and 2 have been comnpleted these steps have to be undone. is this possible?

thanks

You can't undo it. Your best bet is to load the "changes" you are making into memory so you can revert if you need to.

Another option would be to save the workbook before running the macros then if an error was made after running a macro close the workbook down without saving changes.
