Unhide Question

I had an interesting thing happen today. I emailed a spreadsheet to a friend and when he went to open it, columns A and B were hidden and he couldn't get them unhidden. When I opened my copy (the original), I had the same problem. On another sheet in the workbook, A and B were hidden as well but I was able to unhide those.

The only column that was supposed to be hidden was column A in the first worksheet.

Anybody got any ideas as to what happened and how to get the 2 columns unhidden?

I am using Windows XP an Excel 2003.

To unhide:
• F5 (GoTo) and type in A1:B1 in the reference box
• From the main menu: Format, Column, Unhide

No ideas as to what happened other than the obvious - somebody hid the columns. :wink:

I tried the unhide from the format columns. That didn't work. Then I tried the F5 suggestion. That didn't work. I don't think I did it wrong. I notice that after I did these things, rhe number 1 was highlighted. Like it recognized it or something, but no colums A or B.

Any other suggestions?

You have to do the F5 suggestion first. That takes you to cells in columns A and B. Then Format|Column|Unhide.

Let me know if that works.

Another thought - are the windows "frozen". From the main menu, Windows|UnfreezePanes. I'm betting this is the nasty beast!
