Unreliable data due to sorting prior to pasting?

Hi

I'm currently working on a spreadsheet which looks as though it has had some columns sorted individually on a parent sheet prior to pasting onto this sheet. For example, when sorting surnames A-Z, the corresponding street names are also sorted A-Z, and the DOBs are also sorted smallest-largest. For example:

SurnameDOBStreet
Armson01/01/2000Anchovy Street
Bellson02/01/2000Bell Road
Cotson03/01/2000Cress Lane

When I received the spreadsheet there was a custom sort in place for ID number. I removed this filter and the data is nonsensical, however way I try to sort it.

Am I right in thinking that whichever methods I use to try to manipulate and correct this data, if it was pasted incorrectly at the source (by the spreadsheet author), there is no way I can fix it?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
You are correct. It is impossible to correctly re-align the Surnames, DOBs and Streets. It's a bin job.
