Is there a way to deactivate the current default of unzipping files? I've tried to download excel zip files and even tried downloading colo's utility for displaying excel sheets and it opens with powerpoint. Whatever I open or download, appears in powerpoint. Any suggestions to fix this?

Please help

Thanks

it sounds like you need to change the default program that windows uses to open up files w/ a .zip extension. you can do this by:

- opening windows explorer
- opening the 'tools' menu, and selecting 'folder options'
- selecting the 'file types' tab
- scrolling down until you can select the ZIP extension file type
- pressing the 'change' button
- selecting a new default to open this file type with

if by "Application used to perform Action" it means that it needs to know the path and filename of the program's executable file, then that is what you would put here. for example if you wanted to use winzip to open these files, you would type:

C:PROGRAM FILESWinZipwinzip32.exe

if this is the location that you have your winzip installed to.

hope this helps you, post back with details if it does not.
