I'm using Excel 2010 and have an embedded ActiveX combo box on one of my sheets. I have been able to update the box when the workbook is opened and I now want to have the user select an item from the drop down and then cell D3 will populate with the value chosen/displayed in the combo box. Have tried a few things I found online but can't get anything to work.

The image above shows what I'm trying to do. Want the user to use the drop down and then what's in the green cell would update to that value.

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
you can achieve this by using a helper cell as the "Cell link" (right click the control and select "Format Control" to set it) and then in cell D3 input the formula =INDEX($I$1:$I$8,$C$3) The range $I$1:$I$8 is the Input Cells for the control.
