i have a macro that i have made in visual basic that opens files up then it does stuff then save and closes the files. it works fine my problem is that ever form it opens excel pops up a screen that says update or dont update and you have to click one of the buttons to let my marco keep working. Is there away to make a visual comand to by pass this problem or is there away to cancel that form from popping up altogether.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Sounds like you are getting the "Update remote references" popup

This can be turned if in Tools>Options> General >

There is a check box for "Ask to update remote references"...uncheck this and you will not get that pop up.
