DATA

Every customer with a cut 'DUE' (as shown in column P) is on the 'CUT LIST' sheet for sorting and printing. I've been asked for an 'UPDATE' button on the 'CUT LIST' sheet, that, once those 'DUE' cuts are completed, will find the first blank column on the above 'DATA' sheet, from col. F going to the right, for each customer with 'DUE' listed in column P (there were many more columns, deleted temporarily for the above image), change the validation list dropdown to "Done - *Owe" and enter the current date in the next blank cell to the right.

My "expertise" with visual basic is currently copy/paste, or as I often call it in my particular case, airhead level.

Can anyone help me with some code for this? =o) Pretty please?

I did use multiple If statements and concatenate them together to get a cell that contains the cell address of the first blank cell in each row -- but now I don't know what to do with it from here to get what I want. I spent the entire evening and half the night searching through here and the internet at large and I'm stuck...

Not sure I am following you? Which sheet do you want the formula in and what exactly are you wanting to see? Could you maybe provide a sheet with expected results?

On a sheet called 'CUT LIST' I need a button, called 'UPDATE'. When that button is click, it should do the following on the above sheet called 'DATA':

Look for the rows with the word 'DUE' in column P.

*Those were lawns that were to be cut and are now complete. This is all to update the data sheet to show these are now complete, as of today (when the Update button was clicked).

For every one of the rows with DUE shown in col. P, find the first blank cell in that row (going left to right).

*So, in the above, in row 7 the first blank cell is J. The next row shown as DUE, row 13, the first blank cell is N, etc.

In those cellsl (J7, N13, H15, etc) enter/choose "Done - *Owe" from the validation dropdown list, and in the very next cell to the right of that, enter todays date.

Does that make sense? I have talent for confusing people when I think I'm making sense!
