Update formula

Hi All,

I am using Excel 2003 and have been having a problem lately with formulas in my worksheets that will not update automatically. Say for example that I have data in Sheet 1 in cells A1 and B1. And then I have a formula in Sheet 2 that adds these values together (=a1+b1). There are times when I update the values in A1 and B1 on Sheet 1, that the formula in Sheet 2 will not update. I have to manually go to Sheet 2, click on the cell, hit F2, and then enter for it to update (without altering anything else). Is there a reason for this? I have checked the calculation option in Tools/options, and it's set to automatic. I posted another problem similar to this (regarding formatting), but the general problem is the same - my cells are not updating. Please help! It makes it so that I have to check to see every formula is correct in the workbook -- what then is the point of formulas -- I might as well input everything by hand!
