Hi,

I have the following type of folder/file layout for different budget files I work with:

- 21BUDGET\WORK\FY21 FREIGHT.xlsx
- 21BUDGET\WORK\FY21 RENT.xlsx

- 21BUDGET\COGS\PROJECTS DETAIL\OH.xlsx
- 21BUDGET\COGS\PROJECTS DETAIL\PMC.xlsx
- 21BUDGET\COGS\PROJECTS DETAIL\TOC.xlsx
- 21BUDGET\COGS\PROJECTS SUMMARY.xlsx

- 21BUDGET\COGS\CONTRACTS DETAIL\OH.xlsx
- 21BUDGET\COGS\CONTRACTS DETAIL\PMC.xlsx
- 21BUDGET\COGS\CONTRACTS DETAIL\TOC.xlsx
- 21BUDGET\COGS\CONTRACTS SUMMARY.xlsx

- 21BUDGET\CONSOLIDATED BUDGET.xlsx

So basically I have the "detail" excel files linking to different data files within the "work" directory using vlookups.

Each time I make updates to the "work" excel files, I thought I could just go into the "summary" excel file and "update links" but it doesn't seem to work. I then have to open each "detail" excel file, "update links" there and then open back up the "summary" file and "update links".

Then finally I can open the "consolidated" excel file and "update values" there which are linked to the "summary" excel files.

I was just wondering, is there a way to update links on these files without having to open each of them up each time I make changes?

Thank you!

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
