When I begin adding numbers to a row, columns A thru S, in a spreadsheet the curser jumps from column H to I, then back to H changing the formula in column I from =sum(E45:F45) to =sum(E45:G45). It includes column G now and I don't want it to. Is this a property of Formulas that can be changed or something? I am baffled by this. It is so annoying because everytime I enter data I have to correct the formula in column I. Thanks in advance for your help.

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
When you say you are adding numbers to a row, can you explain exactly what actions you are taking. It sounds like you are inserting cells or columns, and not just entering data into cells.

I am entering data in columns B, C, (D is a formula), E, F, G, H, (I is the formula that changes on me). However, when I get to column G and enter the data it skips column H, which I need to enter data for, and jumps to column I by itself and changes the formula (see original posting) then places the curser in column H so I can enter data. Then I have to change the formula in column I manually.

It sounds like you have event code for your sheet, i.e. a macro is running which changes things in your sheet somehow. Have you checked for VBA code on this sheet, or for the book?
