Updating multiple workbooks at once

Hi All,

I am currently handling multiple excel workbooks that each have a different spreadsheet that uses vlookup to extract information from a same data spreadsheet(same across all the excel workbook files). So basically lets say I have 6 excel workbooks, and each of the same spreadsheet "A" with all the data. But then each of the 6 workbooks also have different spreadsheets from spreadsheet "1" to "6" that vlookup datas from spreadsheet A.

However this main data spreadsheet A is updated every 2 days and I have to manually delete and copy paste the new data into each workbook spreadsheet, which is quite annoying and takes quite long. This data sheet A is also really huge and is laggy at times.

Is there a way to update the same data spreadsheet A in all 6 workbooks at one go? Some people were saying it can be done through microsoft access or something, but im really not a good guy at computer stuff so..

Will appreciate everyone's help a lot!

Thank you very much for your time.

If you have subordinate workbooks with VLOOKUP formulas that draw from a master workbook, the results of those formulas should change as the data is changed in the master workbook.

Are there actually VLOOKUP formulas in the subordinate sheet's cells or are you using VLOOKUP in a VBA routine to put data into the subordinates?

Hi,

I am really not sure what is subordinate and master workbooks, so sorry haha because this workbooks are passed down from a senior. I am serving mandatory national service as a data clerk in the army...so I am new to all this excel stuff.

As for the sheets I know they are plainly Vlookup formulas, no VBA routine macros whatsover i think.

Cheers.
