Updating Text Values

I am creating a single line spreadsheet, increasing the value of the box by 1 each time.

A1=NCP001

Since this is a text box, how do I increase the value in that box by 1 to make A2 NCP002, A3 NCP003, etc etc.

Thanks for the help.

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
By textbox if you mean formatted as "text" and it is in cell A1 then: simply use Autofill option (dragging down). Excel will automatically update the numeric part!

Even without a formula, it will work. Type in A1:

NCP001

grab the fill handle (lower right corner of the selected cell A1), and drag down.
