Hi, I would appreciate help with the following:
I have several worksheets in a workbook with are summarised in a final sheet. These are updated every month. 2 queries:
1. How can I add/delete rows in the worksheets and maintain the formula in the summary sheet?
2. How can I track changes in the worksheets from month to month?

Thanks

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
The second one is a bit difficult, and I don't have an answer for it, but if I understand the first one properly...

Let say that your summary sheet you have =A1+B1+C1 as a summary formula.

So you insert a column before C on your worksheet, and your formula changes to =A1+B1+D1, but you want it to use the new C1 value.

If that is what you mean, you simply need to use placeholders on your cell variables. If you always want to add column A + B + C, use =$A1+$B1+$C1. This will make your column letter constant, but allow the row number to change.

If you want to add a single cell (say F1) to everything, then you would use
=$F$1+$A1+$B1+$C1

This will change the values of A, B, and C to the appropriate row as you copy down and always add F1 to all values.

Hope that helps.
