Upside down text

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
You can use a text box and then make the text box upside down and the text will be upside down.

You could also use word art and use the rotate options under format.

I've never been able to do this - The last time I needed to do this I used a Text Book formatted to look like the rest of my text and flipped that upside down.

Interested to know if there is a better way though?

As far as I know, the cell formatting limits you to +-90 degrees. So not totally inverted.

You CAN invert a text box. You can have the text in the text box be from a cell.
The text box can be positioned over a cell and the properties should be "Move and size with cells".
Then, if you make the "Line Color" to be "No line" it will appear as a cell.... sort of.

This won't display correctly for many. These forums don't tell your browser to use Unicode.

For Firefox , go to View on the menu Alt+V > Text Encoding > Unicode.

The left hand side is the glyph. The right hand side is the Unicode decimal number. To display the glyph, use the UNICHAR function, =UNICHAR(8513) shows an inverted G.

Have fun.

I looked into browser encoding and neither MS Edge nor Google Chrome will let you force the encoding to UTF-8 or some other encoding that allows Unicode. I can only get the page to display correctly in Firefox, and I have to manually set it.

And, among other features these forums don't specify UTF-8 as the encoding. Drat!
