If a user selects a currency, say EUR for Euro, or USD of US Dollar, then the string to apply to the .NumberFormat parameter will be '[$€-x-euro2] #,##0.00' or '[$USD] #,##0.00'.

However, I want a user to simply select any valid currency code: GBP, BGN or RMB for example and then be able to find the relevant string to pass to .NumberFormat - but I can't find a list of all the valid format strings?

Any ideas gratefully received.

Regards

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
If you type 'Currency' into windows help you will be shown the popup from the above site that allows you to select for about 600 languages and the additional settings button shows a tab that holds their currency display.

Combining this site
Add a Free Quote Widget to your Website in Minutes (3-ltr abbreviation & numeric layout) with
Currency symbol - Wikipedia (Symbol)

would probably get you what you want.
