Hello all,
I've done some searches on the board but can't find a close enough match. Can anyone point me to information on how to populate an Outlook calender, from and Excel spreadsheet.

I have a preventive maintenance schedule that I would like to export to Outlook, so I can see everything that is coming due for the month, on one calendar page.

I've heard of it, but never seen it done.

Thanks,
Gary

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Going the opposite way will be better

First in the Excel Spreadsheet you want to import you will have to have a named range [via Insert....Name....Define....

Save and close your workbook.

In Outlook, do
File Import
Import from other Program or file

In the next screen select Microsoft Excel
Then Browse for your excel file:you need the named range to import.
Then you will be ask in which folder you wish to import. Select Calendar
Then you will have a screen where you will have to tick the corresponding named range, you will only have one choice if there is only one named range in the workbook.
ie: import "mdat" into "calendar" folder
Once ticked
Click on mapped custom fields.
You will have a screen with on the left your fields in Excel and on the right the field in Outlook.
......
click on clear map as sometimes is keep prior mapping
....
You will have to drag the one on the left to the list on the right:
ie if in Excel your start date is called Mystart then drag mystart to start date.
It is just to matter to link each field in Excel to relevant field in Oulook.
Once done click OK
Then click on finish

This is it

If you plan to do this often, best tip is to rename your field in Excel the same as outlook then use default map when on the screen for mapping.
