i created a macro that includes the current date in a cell in the finished product...just realizing that if someone runs the macro on an archived report, the current date and not the date associated with the report will appear.

is there a formula or some other means to show the workbook title in a specified cell...e.g. if i open report_03-11-09.xls and run the macro, "report_03-11-09" will appear in the desired cell?

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Hi!

Check thiz out.

You should use something like (in VBA-code...)

Code:
MyName = ThisWorkbook.Name

Then assign MyName to the desired cell.
