hello all-

i had one column of first names, one column of last names, and used concatenate to merge into a new column of complete names...since this is a formula, i can't delete the first two columns otherwise the new column is nothing. how can i turn this new merged column into text so i can toss out the old columns and get on with my assignment?

thanks again!!!!

If it is a one time thing, just copy the cells with the concatenate formulas and then choose Edit, Paste Special, click on values and hit OK.

Just select your new range with the concatenated names and copy and paste special and select values. You can find that in the right click menu before pasting.
