Hello folks,

On my spreadsheet I have 60 staff with various data entries for each one over four lines. Their names are in cells AH5, AH9, AH13 and so on to AH241.

What I am trying to achieve is to have a search facility that will locate any selected member of staff and that cell become the 'focused' cell. Can anyone suggest the best way to achieve this, please?

Many thanks.

Mel

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
When you say 'another way' do you mean as an alternative to a user form?

Hyperlinks are one option, the Ctrl f search box is another, then there's a worksheet change event with a data validation dropdown. There are plenty of options, the question is which one is going to be most practical for you to use?

Hi Jason,

I was thinking of a (control) Search button that would allow me to select from a hidden, feeder list, which would then go to the cell that contains that entry and 'focus' that cell.
