I have a pivot table with one data element, which could be #new, #tsf, #closed, or #accts. I want the user to select which of these data elements they want to review (macro button?) & have a marco that will automatically change the pivot table to report their selection.

Recorded code only works when you know what the current data element is. Can you tell me what I need to make this work?

As always...thanks for your help!!!

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Consider a ComboBox or Drop Down List with your choice of elements that inserts the appropriate element in the pivot table.

Is it not possible that, within your pivot table, you add the elements you want to be able to select to a page field. This would then give you a drop down box to select from.

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, it had to be the data field & I don't know how to do combo boxes. I did figure out some macros to use from reading thru lots of posted questions.

Thanks again for your help!
