Hi all

is there some way I can 'force' the user to input a date as format ddmmm (eg 19Apr) into the Textbox1 of my userform

if the 'string' entered isn't an actual date or in the format ddmmm then msgbox "please enter date in correct format ddmmm" is displayed

any help appreciated
thanks

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
its a bit clumbsy, but it works...

Code:
    dim dat as string
    dat = Left(TextBox1.Value, 2) & "/" & Right(TextBox1.Value, 3)
    If IsDate(dat) Then
        MsgBox "Good"
    Else
        MsgBox "No good"
    End If

need to loop around etc, but i am guessing thats not the issue
