Using a Dcount on a Pivot Table

Hello,

I've tried to use a DCOUNTA function by setting the database as a range through my pivot table. I looked it up and supposedly you have to have the Field equal the number of the column, as opposed to the referencing the cell number. I've done this and the function will not work.

I've special pasted the pivot table data so that it is no longer a pivot table and used the formula the same way and it worked perfectly. What is it about the pivot table that is not allowing me use the DCOUNT function?
