I am missing something that is probably basic since I am not an expert in VBA.I would like to have the user input a variable number that is used in a formula. In the simplified example below I would like the formula that is place in cell A1 to include whatever number the input box declares. Instead, I see the letter "x", not the number that "x" is to represent.

Sub Macro1()

Dim X As Integer
X = InputBox("Type Number here")

Range("A1").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=(100*X)/2"

End Sub

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).

Hi,

You have to contruct the formula and separate the VBA variable using ampersands (&).

Code:
Sub Macro1()
Dim X As Integer

X = InputBox("Type Number here")
Range("A1").FormulaR1C1 = "=(100*" & X & ")/2"

End Sub
