I am using Excel as a front-end with Access as a back end. Data is keyed into Excel workbook via userforms, and exported to Access i.e. using adding records to database with ADO connection. Similarly, the controls within the userforms are populated via retrieving records from the Access Database. I incorporated mapped networkdrive ( for path ) in the VBA code. Access serves only as a central depository for the datasets, while Excel is doing most of the computing/processing.
It is working fairly well within a local area network environment. Multiusers can work off the shared Access Database. Very similar to the scenario painted in Chapter 21 of VBA and Macros: MS Excel 2010 by Bill Jelen and Tracy Syrstad.
Now I need to site the Shared Access Database onto a SharePoint platform and like to retain the Access as the shared DB and using the same scripting approach to add / retrieve records to/from the database table. SQL statements will be important.
What are the steps I need to take including the additional VBA codes to make it work?
