I am using excel as a project list with various tasks listed in rows. One of the columns contains a due date. Is there a way to highlight the date if it is today or earlier?

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.

Welcome to the board..

It's called "Conditional Formatting" - under the Format Menu.

Highlight the column, click format - conditional formatting.

Select "Cell Value Is"
Select "Less Than Or Equal To"

in the box, type =TODAY()

click Format - select the format style you want when a cell is past due.
click OK
click OK

Thanks. Another quick question - is this feature disabled when a worksheet is shared?

I did have to remove sharing before applying the formula you provided. I could then re-share the worksheet and the conditional formatting stayed. Works like a charm - thanks for your help!
