Using Command Buttons

Hi,
I have a command button, which increases a cell by one each time it is clicked. I do not wish this cell to be editable by the person who is using the spreadsheet. I have tried locking it and that just comes up with an error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to set sheet protection as well as locking that cell.

Yes, that is what I do but when I press the button, the error comes up.

What error specifically?

Its probably because you are running a macro to manipulate a protected cell.

It might work if you write code for the command button click to:

1. unprotect sheet
2. increase cell value
3. protect sheet again after value increased.
