Have a question on how to graph some information in excel.

Currently we manually count the amount of records (open tasks) within our database. Then add that number to an excel spreadsheet on a weekly basis. We then use this spreadsheet to graph the number of open tasks over a week-to-week basis. The graph is a basic bar chart. Horizontal x-axis is the week number (51-2022, 52-2022, 01-2023, 02-2023, 03-2023). The Vertical y-axis is the number of open tasks for that week.

Our database has a task start date column. Wondering if there is a way to use this date to create the graph as opposed to having to add a manual count every week.

Any help would be appreciated! Let me know if you have any questions!

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Cant you export the data you need from the database into a file that you can use excel formulas to count and organize by months? All you probably need is 4 columns. Task ID/Name, Start Date, Task Status (If you can't filter for open tasks). And if you want to disclosed closed tasks the closed date.
