Using file name as variable in spreadsheet

We use a naming protocol so all of our excel files have the same name format. We would like to use the name as a variable I in formula so whatever name you enter, searches for the spreadsheet with that name. I.E.
'Job_Name_1.Status Report.2015.xlsx'
and
'Job_Name_2.Status Report.2015.xlsx'

In another spreadsheet I want to enter a name (Job_Name_2) and return the particular information from that Status report. Using VBA I tried using a button but I want it to automatically search the entire folder of status reports and return an invalid if that spreadsheet name doesn't exist but return the desired info if it does.

please help.

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Welcome to the Board!

Take a look at INDIRECT.EXT, which is part of the Morefunc add-in. Google will turn up some download sites.
