using IF and VLOOKUP formulas together

I've been trying to come up with a solution for the gradebook I'm setting up since hours with no luck so far. I give up. I bet it's something you Excel-gurus could deal with easily, so here's what I'm trying to do and what is not working.

There are two different columns displaying different criteria (one for final exam, the other for overall average), and a "pass/fail" column referring to a simple table in another worksheet "0-Fail, 70-Pass" when calculating the result by VLOOKUP, based on the overall average. But I need to make the "pass/fail" column account another variable, the minimum required points on final exam (60), which is different from the minimum pass mark (70). To put it in a different way, even if a student's overall average is above 70, they have to "Fail" if their mark on the final exam is below 60.

Is it possible to do this by using IF and VLOOKUP functions together? If so, how am I supposed to write the formula? I was thinking maybe something like "IF=D>=60,VLOOKUP(F; Table!$B$10:$D$12; 2; TRUE) would work, but obviously it doesn't.

Help. :(

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
