I am trying to conduct a run consisting of a 1Mile, 5K, and a 10K. With age groups from >=17, 18-29, 30-39, and <=40.

I have been able to get PIVOT table to count the individual ages of the racers but not into the categories.

........B.............C
......AGE.........EVENT
2.....17...........10K
3.....28...........5K
4.....40...........1Mile
5.....35...........10K

This is an example of my raw data. How do I get it into a Pivot Table and my ages into a the right group.

I am looking to fill in these answers:

.......>=17.......18-29.....30-39...<=40....Total
1Mile..........................................1........1

5K....................1..................................1

10K.....1.........................1....................2

Total...1...........1.............1..........1........4

The above table is what I am looking to create. I am fairly new at excel so please explain at a novice level.

Thanks in advance.

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
If your intervals are even, you can use "Group and outline" from pivot table menu.

Thanks a lot. I had to add another colomn outside the print area but it worked like a charm. I would not have figured it by Tuesday on my own.

Again Thanks a lot, now I hope my boss doesn't think I a wiz at excel :eek:
