# Using Roundup function

Hello Group,

I have an excel spreadsheet that I use to markup pricing on parts. My formula is pretty easy, however I would like it to use the roundup function as well. Basically, I want it to do the existing formula (=SUM A6/0.29) and then round up. Most of the time it comes up with a number like \$ 2.24. Is there a way to get it to round up to either a \$4.99 or \$9.99? So anything that is less than \$4.99 would round up to that and \$5.00 and above would round up to \$9.99?

Just to clarify, you want to round up to the nearest \$5 increment, but one penny less? So the nearest \$4.99, \$9.99, \$14.99, \$19.99, etc? In which case \$5.03 would round up to \$9.99 is this all correct?

Is this what you need?

=MAX(0,ROUND(CEILING(A6/0.29,4.99999999),0)-0.01)

I had been thinking similarly with...

=IF(A6<=0,"",CEILING((A6/0.29)+0.001,5)-0.01)

Yes that is exactly what I am trying to accomplish. Anything that comes up after the calculation, I would like it to roundup to the next \$4.99, \$9.99, \$14.99, etc. I’m not sure what kind of formula it takes.

Thanks for the help!

Try the formula from Post #3 or Post #4.
