I have both Access 2003 and 2007. Some of my mdb files don't work well in 2007 and need 2003.
But moving from one to the other gets "Preparing to install..." and a huge delay before (either) Access opens.

Is there are way around this ? Thanks

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
I have done this successfully, but it was a long time ago under XP. It required partitioning the C drive and installing Windows and Access (and whatever else I thought might be needed on that session) on the new partition. The startup routine had to be modified to prompt which partition I wanted to boot from, with a default if no response. Later on I just installed a swappable drive bay because the pc was a tower unit. If you try to run multiple versions from the same drive/partition you will experience registry issues. See
