If i have two separate Spread sheets each in a separate Workbook .

The first Sheet contains First and Last Names which is being updated and the information is in Date received order.

The second sheet contains a list of Names (First and Last) and is being updated manually based on the information received in the second Sheet.

Can i use VLOOKUP to compare two adjacent cells (First, Last Name) from the second sheet and use that cell data to compare against a range of cells in the first sheet, is there is a match set the cell with data to a value.

I am trying to make this work but cannot get the VLOOKUP formula to work, it comes up with a Formula error.....

Thank

John

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Maybe something like:

=IF(COUNTIFS('Sheet1'!A:A,A2,'Sheet1'!B:B,B2),"Found","Not Found")

this will count number of times a match is found in same row, if the number is greater than 0, then "Found" will result.

Adjust sheetnames, etc to suit.
