This is my formula. I am able to look up the first five on the corresponding sheet, but then I only get back the first five from column13. I need to pull back the entire value from 13though.

=VLOOKUP($A2,LEFT('Master Sheet Modified'!$A:$N,5),13,FALSE)

ex
A2= pladt
the Master sheet displays as "pladtywe"
the result I get back from column 13 is "trian" and not "triangle"

How do I get the full value back in 13?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Maybe
Excel Formula:
=VLOOKUP($A2&"*",'Master Sheet Modified'!$A:$N,13,FALSE)
