V-lookup w/formatting

Please bear with my statement below and assist.

I have 2 sheets with a common number on each for vlookup, but there is coloring that I would like to be on the first tab from the 2nd sheet do you know how that could be brought over?

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
I asked the same basic question yesterday & was told that it can't be done with a vlookup. It would require VBA.
