Validate two columns with SUMIF

How can I use sumif to look for "ABC" in column A, if it finds it....then sum B1:B10, then populate a "y" in C1?

why not use sumproduct!

=Sumproduct(--(a1:a10="ABC"),B1:b10)

Whats, the criteria of puting a "y" in the C1?
